Automation for gas plants, compression and disposal in the Permian Basin.
ControlX Automation designs, programs, validates and commissions the control systems that run midstream facilities. Logix PLCs, SCADA, control narratives and cause & effect.
Cryogenic gas plants
Inlet and treating, dehydration, cold box, residue and NGL. Plant-wide control narratives, shutdown keys and the Logix code that implements them.
Compressor stations
Unit sequencing, station load control, suction and discharge management, and remote operation from the control room.
Saltwater disposal
Tank, pump and injection control with the interlocks that keep an unmanned site safe, and the SCADA to see it from anywhere.
Based in Midland, Texas. Working the corridor from Midland through Pecos to the New Mexico line, including Reeves and Loving counties.
What we do
- 1
Architecture
Control system architecture for the facility: controllers, I/O, networks, SCADA and the boundaries between them. Decided before anything is bought or programmed.
- 2
Design
Instrument and I/O lists, panel and network design, alarm philosophy, and the documents the project is built and audited from.
- 3
Standardization
We standardize electrical design, controls and SCADA/HMI together: a valve, a motor, a PID loop, an interlock or an alarm behaves and looks the same whether it sits in a cryo plant, a compressor station or an SWD. The same control blocks, tag conventions and HMI faceplates carry across every plant and every SCADA. That consistency is what makes it scalable.
- 4
Controls narrative
How every unit starts, runs, trips and recovers, written in plain language.
- 5
PLC, HMI and SCADA programming
Rockwell Logix code, operator screens and SCADA built from the narrative as numbered revisions, with the baseline untouched until the change is proven.
- 6
Commissioning and validation
Point-to-point checks, simulation before download, and witnessed functional tests against the controls narrative. Start-up goes the way the narrative says it will.
